The Stories We Tell Ourselves: Unlearning Fear
I’m sitting here sipping my coffee writing this newsletter and looking forward to spending time telling Elyse’s (the protagonist in my fiction book) story later. For the past month, I’ve been starting my week with a writing group. It makes a difference in the story I tell myself.
I have never considered myself a “writer,” yet for the last seventeen years, I have written a weekly newsletter, and I also write blog posts and academic papers.
The story I told myself was that I didn’t…
Love Potion #1- Heart Chakra: Brewing Up Unconditional Love
It’s a big sports day today, meaning the puppy bowl will be playing at my house. I’m not a big sports fan, leaning more toward books, art, and solo pursuits.
That’s not to say community, connection, and relationships aren’t important; I just seek them outside of sports. Give me a book club or a writers’ group any day 🙂
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I felt that looking into the heart chakra would be timely.
It’s where emotional attachment and love in all its forms…
The Intricacies of Webwork: My Journey in Energy Healing
Have you ever wondered how energy healing can transcend physical boundaries? I often receive questions about my unique approach to energy healing, which I predominantly conduct at a distance. I began healing work with in-person sessions. Nowadays, I find myself deeply...
Shiny Object or True Treasure? How to Tell the Difference- Overcoming BSOS & FOMO
It’s been a stormy weekend, perfect for tucking in with a good book and a cup of tea. I’m reading Tom Lake by Ann Patchett. She has a way of making her characters come to life.
I also find myself distracted by social media and a plethora of advertisements. 🤪
I’m not sure about you, but I can get distracted by BSOS (bright shiny object syndrome) or FOMO (fear of missing out) and make bad choices. Ones that aren’t based on my goals and dreams but on some other person’s ability to…
The Art of Transformation: The Energy of Alignment
I had lunch with a colleague a few weeks ago. She’s been a nurse for 35-some-odd years, something we both have in common. Despite having some core similarities, particularly in answering the existential question of who I am and how am/did I…
The Intricacies of Webwork: My Journey in Energy Healing
Have you ever wondered how energy healing can transcend physical boundaries? I often receive questions about my unique approach to energy healing, which I predominantly conduct at a distance. I began healing work with in-person sessions. Now, I find myself deeply immersed in the world of distant healing, a practice I lovingly refer to as “Webwork.” (and yes, people sometimes think I am referring to websites or the worldwide web….I’m not that tech savy 😉) Understanding Webwork: A…
Puzzle Pieces and Life Phases: Finding Your Season
I started a new jigsaw puzzle this week. It’s never just a puzzle for me. I work on a puzzle when I need to distract my mind so I can sort through things on a more intuitive level without my mind taking over.
We’ve all had an abundance of stress and chaos in the last few months, well, actually years.
I’ve been thinking about the seasons in life, both big and small.
I’m currently in a fallow period, and I must admit it isn’t my favorite. The resting, letting things settle, and…
Saying no to what drains me and yes to joy: My process for intentional change
I spent the last couple of days putting away decorations and transferring birthdays and events to new calendars. I’m old school like that, I still use a paper planner and calendars on the wall. Something about the visual combined with the tactile.
This last week of the year is a limbo space. It’s a little slower, a little gaze toward the next year and a little peaking back at the one we’re leaving behind. The rush of the holidays is done, and there’s a stirring to see where to…
Taming the Time Monster: A New Approach
I’m writing from my friend’s home in Santa Barbara. She had a milestone birthday this week. Her wish was to gather her dearest friends for connection and celebration, a heartfelt and beautiful honoring of relationships.
It’s December, the last month of the year. It is a month filled with holiday gatherings with family and friends and many extra things on the to-do list.
I’m finding myself feeling time-starved. There are more “to do’s” than hours in the day. Things are just taking…
A Quick Break from the Hustle: A Sweet Note of Gratitude
For those of you in the States, I hope you had a warm and nourishing Thanksgiving. We had a lovely meal with dear friends and, on Friday, started decorating for Christmas. I love all the pretty decorations, especially the tree. 🎄
No matter where you are in the world, I hope that you take a moment today to connect with all the things that fill you up and make you smile.
Here is a short gratitude poem and a heartfelt thank you for being a blessing in my life.
Grateful Am I

Perfectly Imperfect: Embrace the Real Joy of the Holidays
As the holidays roll around, the idea of perfection pops up. The picture-perfect holiday, whatever that image is in your head, is rarely achievable. Often it just causes us worry and stress. What if we just embraced a…
Conscious Choices, Powerful Outcomes: The Intention Effect
Hi Reader,
I spent a couple of days in Carmel celebrating my birthday with my friend Tawnya last weekend. Lots of talking, laughing, and sipping wine in the hot tub.
We saw a flock of turkeys popping up like they had springs in their feet to reach their long necks into the olive tree. They were knocking the olives to the ground so they could eat them.
The scene was so funny we stopped and watched for a while, completely enchanted.
Coming home on Tuesday meant a long list of things that…
